Claudio Di Luzio

bimota S.p.A. Mechanic

Raised on the roar of engines and the scent of gasoline, he began his journey racing motorbikes in Italy’s Sport Production championships, competing in both the 125cc and 750cc categories during the vibrant racing scene of the 1980s.

After graduating from the Istituto Tecnico Industriale in Chieti, his passion quickly turned into a lifelong career. His first professional role as a technician was with the Gattone Team, but it was in 1994 that he truly stepped into the spotlight, entering the Superbike World Championship with Honda. Soon after, he joined a Ducati project with the legendary Pierfrancesco Chili. In the early 2000s, he joined Benelli, developing road bikes.

By 2007, he became part of the heartbeat of bimota, contributing to motorcycle production and the ambitious Moto2 project. Following a few years at Moto Morini and a brief detour into the world of nautical engineering, he returned home — to bimota — in 2023, where he began developing the all-new KB998 Rimini from the ground up. More than just a technician, he’s a true craftsman of motorbikes. He embodies the spirit of bimota — Italian passion, precision, and artisanal excellence.

In his free time, you might catch him riding his bike. He also enjoys go-karting and amateur car racing — a passion he proudly shares with his 25-year-old daughter. Quiet, kind, always smiling — today, he’s living his dream once again. And when the KB998 Rimini made its first appearance at Phillip Island during FP1… he shed tears of pure joy.
